Empowering Equal Access: Ensuring Disability Access for All
Town Planning & Access provided comprehensive disability access inspections and produced detailed accessibility reports for Mission Australia premises across Queensland and New South Wales. Our disability access consultation services included assessing and improving disability access in a range of buildings to ensure they meet both legal requirements and the practical needs of users with disabilities.
We prepared disability access building upgrade reports for all their facilities. This involved conducting thorough onsite inspections to identify potential barriers to accessibility and discussing with staff any disabled access issues that needed to be addressed.
Our process included a review of each premise against the National Construction Code 2022 (NCC 2022), and relevant Australian Standards, particularly AS 1428.1 (General requirements for access – New building work). These standards are designed to ensure that buildings provide safe, functional, and equitable access for people with disabilities.

In addition to assessing compliance with the regulations, we also considered the general safety and functionality of the spaces to ensure that any proposed upgrades would enhance disability access. In some cases, we determined that upgrades were not warranted based on the existing conditions and the practical needs of the building users.
